Natural Resources
The Wabash River Aquifer is an abundant water source providing Mt. Carmel with an excess of 1.5 mgd. Additional supply is available to the community from the water source as needed with future improvements.
Wabash County coal resources are supplying energy production facilities throughout the Midwest. Both Springfield and Herrin coal are located in Wabash County.
